auto lock threads

Hello,

Does it help to autolock threads after a specific time in order to get more new posts? On my forum I have the problem that old threads get bumped for not always the best reason. Who has some experience with this?

I have the problem that old threads get bumped for not always the best reason.

Sometimes it's good to add to an existing thread, so I don't think auto-locking them is a good idea. However if you feel a new thread would have been better, move the new post to a new thread.

I tend to lock threads down after 700-750 pages the only reason I do it is to keep Tapatalk playing nicely.
