XF 2.1 Auditing Attachments

Is there any good way to audit which attachments are still valid on the board compared with what is in the filesystem?
When I query for the sum of attachments sizes of all entries in the database and compare that to what is in the attachments folder on the filesystem, I'm seeing about a 60 GB delta - the filesystem seemingly has way more attachments than are accounted for in the database. Is there any way to track down the cause of this difference?
