Lack of interest article snippets preview with tables need improvement

I have several reference tables as articles. on forum list preview, it strips the table and shows a gobbled mess of cell content.

is there a better way?

can we add a [ table abstract="some txt to show on preview"] instead?

same problems for lists. it just turns into a run-on sentence. Not very appealing.
