Some English words are just hard to get right, no matter how often we use them. What words do you always end up misspelling? Let’s share our common spelling struggles and maybe come up with some tricks to get them right!

Canceled and cancelled (I'm American English, but for some reason I double L it sometimes, taking the extra L on my spelling).

funny you mention this.
one of my early english teachers used this as a classic example of spelling out by phonetically sounding out the word.
she did state it did not always work but was generally correct.
That's great until you get to the silent letters! Like pneumonia.

My wrongly spelt word is Search. I know how to spell it of course, it's just that my keyboard fingers seem just do serach. This is possibly unique to me, if you do a search on here for serach you will mostly find either my posts or posts quoting mine. My fingers just have to go to the r before the a even though my brain knows otherwise.

I think they call that wandering finger syndrome 😂

I often type xe into my search bar to autofill the url for xenforo but press enter/ok before it's populated. Next thing I know I'm googling XE and end up on a currency exchange website!
