H HJW Active member Jan 8, 2021 #1 Is there any way to add a usegroup on registration? I wish to turn off private messaging for anyone new, so either add this user group when they register or via a user promotion. But am I right in thinking it's not possible to this with the core 2.1? Thanks

Create a new user group and a promotion with the relevant criteria (e.g. 10 posts, registered for a week) to allow conversations.

Mr Lucky Well-known member Jan 8, 2021 #3 There is no need. On registration they will be in registered group, just set permissions for that how you want, ie no conversations. and yes, use a promotion so after x posts they get a secondary group that allows conversations Upvote 0 Downvote
