Apple Corp don't like Boobs or the Danish apparently

Apple have decided to ban a Danish newspaper from their App store due to it having the standard of schlock journalism the page 3 girl, or page 9 in the Danes case. Moderators please note I restrained myself from posting photos to liven up this thread (Dean you can PM me bro).

No Dane has ever gotten the strange idea that Page 9-girl would be banned. But now, narrow-minded, American tasters from computer giant Apple tittet with through the keyhole, and decided that the sweet Danish girl is offensive – for the Danes in Denmark. This completely deranged assertion means that as long as we have a 9-girl side in Ekstra Bladet, we can not be allowed to sell the newspaper to the Danes — in Denmark — Apple’s iPad and iPhone.

It’s called ‘nanny state’ (paternalistic society), where otherwise intelligent and gifted people think it’s best for you and me that they control our lives down to the smallest detail.

Some might think this is a small matter, but it is very fundamental. Danish legislation becomes inoperative by a private American company. No matter what it is about, no one should tolerate it. We will certainly not.

Simple answer, give up your iPhone for a better device, and boycott Apple who clearly are discriminating against large sections of the community via their appalling decision to censor your rights to view semi-dressed Danish chicks on your iPad or whatever. Is it the fault of the girls appearing on page nine that they can't afford clothes? I'm outraged currently, till I find something else to fixate on.

Hmmit does raise an interesting discussion point......Should a Corporation censor via not allowing an App to be used on their devices?

I used to live in Denmark and worked on the same street as Ekstra Bladet's offices.
Oh and Private :D

Man, Apple is totally right! It's a good thing nobody can get porn on their iPod or iPhone! I mean, right there I see....um....

I'll be back in 10 minutes or so.

I don't like censorship and I think sometimes Apple is too strict with it's restrictions.
But on the other hand: it's their shop and platform so they can decide what they want to provide.

It's really quite disgusting - I have to use specialist iPhone porn sites because Apple put too many hurdles in the way of Adobe and Flash player licensing. I should be allowed to access ALL porn sites, it's a breach of my human rights!!!

Now this. <tut> <head shake>

I may have to hand back my iPhone in protest. Just as soon as I've finished GeoDefense! :)

Worked for Sony. They wouldn't allow Beta to be used for porn and Matsushita (VHS) made billions with open licensing. Some say that's what killed Beta. Is there really a place for "corporate conscience" or let the market decide?

Absolutly not...If you buy a dvd player does it have a "do not play these dvd's" chip in it. They already went to court and lost on the jailbreak devices thing and then added tamper-proof screws into the new design to supposedly thwart users from changing their own battery. They should just embrace it and make the money the can allowing people to buy what they want ...geez. And leave GeoHot already , that damn order he got served with from Sony is absurd to the extent they push it.

Exactly they will kill themselves by improperly wielding a double edged sword. When the US banned alcohol people we're so determined to get what they want they we're killing themselves making tainted bathtub gin. Do they think people anywhere will be stopped from doing what they want. I say do what ever you want, but only with in the rules and those rules should be reasonable. If it wasn't for that mentality tens of thousands of current jailbroken phone users would be unhappy with their jailed device and dumped iphone and subsequently with good chance up until just recently; the contractual service providers for Iphones.

It looks like Microsoft is embracing the homebrew interest its new mobile phone platform is garnering. Already taking initiative by meeting with members of the team behind ChevronWP7 — a jailbreak and unlock app for Windows Phone 7 — Microsoft has extended an offer to one of the iPhone scene’s finest.
Brandon Watson, the self described “Entrepreneur on loan to Microsoft,” reached out to George Hotz, aka Geohot, offering him a free phone in an attempt to lure him into the WP7 arena.
To me this reeks of a calculated move to get more people talking about Microsoft’s mobile offerings, as Apple continues to make headlines in the mobile landscape…

This is the main reason why I will never purchase an Apple product. Apple has the mind set that they should be big brother, and tell others what is, and is not acceptable.
