If you or your company are users of Zimbra open source email system you're probably aware that they recently took down their vB based community support forum with no notice whatsover, and the 12-days later replaced it with some kinda Microsoft server based community, leaving all of the rich community data behind.

The current company behind Zimbra, Teligent - who recently acquired the email app, doesn't have a great reputation when it comes to communicating with its customers or users. This latest event is yet another example.

Hence, my question is, would it be possible to HTML scrape the vB forum and use that scraped data to populate a XenForo installation? If we can recreate the data set, which is still accessible thru http (just not obvious), could we re-deploy a community run version of the support forum?

I checked the Way back machine for you, but it seems it was not archived unfortunately.

Learned today that they are planning to restore the old vB forum data, but I have no idea yet what applicaiton that data will now live-in. I'm just contemplating creating a real community based support forum for Zimbra users based upon XenForo.
