How can I set up a redirect to automatically send visitors landing on my old forum pages to the same thread on my XF forum?
A typical example is:
Link to a topic on old forum: https://maggotdrowning.com/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=192416
Link to same topic, following migration, on XF forum: https://www.maggotdrowning.com/forums/index.php?threads/ringers-bait-tubs.192416/
The topic/thread ID is the same, so somehow I need to change 'forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=' to 'forums/index.php?threads/' ... that's if it is possible
Using the ACP Censoring I can change the links to old forum threads within the XF forum so that they direct to the migrated thread using:
However this obviously won't work on thread links listed outside of the XF forum, ie Google results and links from other websites which are still directing to the old forum content
