An addon that lists number of Direct Messages sent by user to help combat scammers ?

I've set a condition that means new users need to post x number of time in the forum before sending DM's

Except there is a new trend with scammers now having to post to get up that user count, so as soon as they reach that limit, it's DM scammers heaven.

IS there an add on that would show me (admin only) the DM's send by users, just need the number so that if I see a spike at the posting threshold then I'll be aware of this activity

what about throttling the DMs as only allowing DMs to 2 new users per 24 hours, so only 2 users get DM spammed.

It would be rare for a new member needing to DM 3 separate individuals.

that is certainly an option, how would you suggest I set that up ?
I set up restriction on new user messaging via promotions, which I can do for the number and not within a time frame

a limit per day would also be very useful !

There is, and it works VERY well for our forums. If a member exceeds a threshold that you state, it immediately sends an email to let you know.

One of the options lets you set a count for the max within 24 hours, and the help text says:

If this many new direct messages or more have been started by the user within the past 24 hours, an email will be sent to the staff listed below. Default is 5.

For a while, we were getting fake people messing with our classifieds ad section. They were trying to get people to send payments or listing fake items (copying someone else's ads and photos), sometimes just replying to ads where people were looking for equipment and claiming to have it and wanting money. This put a quick stop to it.
