Amazon SES is reporting mail delivery failure to Hotmail/Live email accounts

since yesterday, i have been getting a lot of bounces from hotmail/live email accounts. google tells me that this problem has existed for years. anyone else facing this issue this week? what could be the possible solution? move to another region for ses and see if that fixes the problem?

We had this with SES. Not just hotmail but also btinternet.

The solution was to switch to Postmark.

It has existed for years. Over time, it may improve slightly and then Hotmail/Live adjusts its spam filters again and it gets worse. Gmail is just as bad.

The only solution that helps at all (and it's imperfect) is to ask your members to add your forum email address to their address books and email client whitelists.

right. this is the first time i am noticing this i think. would ride it through i guess. my bounce rate is around 0.5% because of this. amazon says that anything under 5% is acceptable. would keep an eye on this.

I would not call 5% at all acceptable. But then SES is very cheap.

well i am usually at 0%. today is a rare case where because of hotmail/live bounces, it has reached 0.5%.
