Fixed Alt-D (going to addressbar) delete selected text in editor

not sure if this would be considered as a bug. ever since migrating to xf2, this has been bugging me. just to confirm that this is not a common behavior, i checked out editors in wordpress, reddit and a few other places. not happening elsewhere.
it's happening right in this editor so this is not a theme or plugin issue.

How to replicate?
Start a new thread.
Type anything in post area.
Select some text in that content.
Press Alt+D to go to address bar of the browser.
The selected text is deleted.

This appears to be a Froala bug. it has been reported and we'll update this thread when progress has been made or you can track the issue on GitHub here: https://github.com/froala/wysiwyg-editor/issues/2518

Froala have already fixed this for their next release. We'll mark this thread as fixed once the new Froala version is included in our next release.

The relevant changes for this are included in the upcoming XF 2.0.2 and have been rolled out here if you'd like to test. Thank you.

Ok. I installed 2.0.2 on my board and alt-d is still deleting the selected text in editor.
i just tried it here in this text box, the selected text is still disappearing on pressing alt-d.
same behavior in chrome.
same behavior in firefox.
edge seems to work fine.

Assuming this is 2.0.3... Selected text is still disappearing on pressing Alt-D in Chrome. Just a FYI.

I've left them a note to confirm the issue still exists.

This is sorted in the next release and we have rolled out the changes here.

Well, it was once fixed by Froala and then it broke again. Hopefully we'll have more luck this time

ok. so i just updated to v2.0.9 and this does not seem to be fixed on it. but it is fixed here on this board... so the update mentioned above is still not pushed out?

2.0.8 and 2.0.9 were security releases. The next maintenance release will include any fixes since the release of 2.0.7.
