Looks like our local cable internet provider is officially pushing IPv6 now. Was wondering why I had to modify some of my conf files with some of the IPv6 settings since it wasn't working on my phone from home.
 
No, IPV4 will still be used... but you will just see more and more of the ISP's going to IPv6 also. If you have older hardware (router, etc) then you will probably have to upgrade it if it doesn't support IPv6.
 
I wonder if the one they gave me 3 years ago will be ok?
Most likely... I have a static IP at my hose. Turns out the connection was from my cell phone to my server (it pulls mail also).
