XF 2.0 Alerts in Favicon - Live Update?

Is there any way to get the alerts that are shown in the favicon to be updated live? Currently you need to refresh the page to see if a new alert is there which is not very useful if someone is reading something on another browser tab.

In Xenforo 1.5, I used the Live Update add-on for this functionality.

Any option in XF 2.0 or add-on that does this?

Live update will be posted to work with XF2 at some point in time.

It will be updated, there's just no ETA at this point.
