XF 2.0 After trial import from vB4, importing skeleton XF2 database

Just a little unclear on the steps here:

I have:

1. installed XF 2.0.12
2. installed and partially customized the style
3. installed several addons
4. exported the database after 1-3 and saved it to my hard drive

I am now doing a trial import from vB 4.2.5 via CLI which appears to be progressing well despite a large number of posts.

Once the trial import completes, I want to close the vB forum and do a final import. Before that, I need to clear all the data from the trial import.

• how exactly do I do that in phpMyAdmin or via SSH?
• do I just drop all the tables? or.... ???

Additionally, I have forgotten the steps to move XF to the root folder. If I recall correctly:

1. I move the old vBulletin files into a separate old_vBulletin directory on the server
2. I move the Xenforo files from /xf to root
3. and change the URLs in the Xenforo setup to delete the /xf part

Is this all correct? Am I missing anything?

Yes I have read that. I see no clear explanation of how to empty the database after a test import there.

As the guide states - take a backup before doing any imports, then restore it.

So Brogan - I am setting up for a migration from vB4.25 to xF2.14 -- and I set up the original xF DB under version 1.5 - so I just updated the test site yesterday, thinking that I would just wipe the DB and then import into the xF2.14 framework I had set up.

Are you saying that I would need to wipe the DB, then install a new clean version of xF2.14 - then take a BU of it - in order to complete this migration -- that I cannot just go from where I am currently - that a migration requires a full clean install and BU?

Please advise.

Just take a backup of whatever XF install you have prior to importing.
