So, I already went into the settings and provided the main admin the capability to do -everything-, I even went in to give myself special user-based permissions to do -everything-
However, I still cannot edit or even moderate other people's posts. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Did you set yourself up as a moderator/super moderator also?
Being set as an admin does not equate to having moderator ability.

Yes, I am the super admin and super moderator, and permissions on both are set to be able to do all functions and I still cannot edit or use any moderator tools - but i have the staff bar and access to the ACP. I can do pretty everything else.

I am using the linked account addon. Here is a post for testing from a second account, as you can see It is set up so that a user can edit and delete their own post with permissions. I have no issues when acting as the account that originally posted a thread. selfpost.webp

But when I swap back to my super admin account, I dont have any options. asadmin.webp

And this is my moderator dropdown
modpanel.webp

When dealing with an add-on like this, your best bet is to always ask in that add-on related thread.
Since the native XF requires one to be listed as a Moderator to perform Moderator functions... any additional extension will be controlled by those add-ons.
