MG 2.1 Adjust "New Media" settings

I've got an old forum I'm trying to re-vitalize. There is currently no new media in the gallery. There's media, but the most recent is like January.

When you click on "new media" it returns nothing. Is there a way to expand the range or to make it so that "New Media" returns at least say 10 hits no matter what?

It's based on the 'Read marking data lifetime' value set in the ACP but it applies globally to all content, not just media.
