XF 1.4 Adding custom icons to font awesome

There's loads of XF styles based on"Font Awesome" which is great for high PPI devices/retina displays. In a few cases forum owners might want to add their own icons though.

In order to keep everything retina friendly and easy to manage the best option would probably be to add the icons directly to the fontset.

I'm curious to know if anyone here has experience with adding SVG icons? If so - how did you do it?

I know digital point has. He made his smilies/icons and other misc images svg and there is a discussion about it in one of the support areas.
