But I'm still not sure if it's still safe to automate mysqldump process without stopping the webserver service (Nginx or Apache) because even the board has deactivated, Users' last visit records could still run update queries? Maybe @Chris D would help

I created the endpoint. It was actually easier than I thought.
No Idea why its not core XF...
Most likely because setting a XenForo instance inactive is not smth. that is used often - and the API is probably used even less.
Honestly, how often do you need to do that?
Normally I'd say this is only required for major upgrades like 2.2 -> 2.3 which don't happen regularly.
