About My Addons And My Retirement

I think I only have one add-on from you right now and it's a free one (Rules 2.0.0). Still, you've been a fixture around here for probably as long as I have been a Xenforo admin (a decade now) so I wish you all the best on whatever comes next in your life, @Ozzy47. Glad to hear you'll still be around, anyhow.

Thank you. :)

I don't blame you one iota for retiring from the majority of add-on development. You've taken on quite the library of code, it's going to be a substantial effort to support them all into the transition of XF 2.3 and if this has been on your mind for some time, I'd imagine it has helped you somewhat to make such a decision.

Your add-ons have been a staple of many XF forums, whether you've originally coded them, taken over them from other developers, or re-released them with significantly improved and/or refactored code - it doesn't matter - it's all time and energy that you have put into them at a minimal cost for the benefit of the community.

I also purchased many of Painbaker's add-ons before he joined you at OzzModz, and I think it's a fitting handover. I just hope that the difficulties he had receiving payments etc. are a thing of the past, and he doesn't get burnt out from the journey ahead.

Enjoy retirement, and I'm glad we'll still see you around.

Good luck @Ozzy47 for wherever your future paths take you. Without your add-ons and support from both yourself and @Painbaker neither of my sites would have come into being, so a huge thank you for that. You've picked a good one to hand over the reins in @Painbaker and I look forward to seeing what's in the pipeline.

As for retirement, it can be fun, that depends on you lol. It's my 70th today, so I can empathise with your thinking. Look after yourself and happy days for you and yours that lie ahead.

2.3 and a few other things made my decision a bit easier to make. I believe Painbaker will be able to handle the addons especially now that he is in total control and can do his own thing with them and set up his own licensing structure.

Well happy birthday to you. 🎂🎂

Your work has been appreciated, I know I've got a couple one-off addon's that you've played a huge role in. Enjoy retirement!

2.3 was a reason to retire? I can't tell if that was a good or bad comment.

I wish you all the luck for the future, you are a staple to many communities and it truly feels like the end of an era.

I know we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but I have a great deal of respect for you and wish you the best in retirement,

Take care and look after yourself.
