Style A style besides default which won't leave me stranded

I'm relatively new to Xenforo and I recently started my second forum (in June) with a custom style I purchased only for the style to be discontinued/unsupported by the developer, that is, it can't be used for xF1.2.

Putting all the "woe is me" story aside, are there custom styles out there which are simple enough to upkeep, if say, the original developer dies or decides not to support the one I have anymore?

Obviously I could just leave my style on the default and play with the colours (which is about the scope of my styling skills) or are there better options?

Well... you could find a template with not that many template edits, @BamaStangGuy started a conversation here:

Kind of in the same regards, past that hard to tell if style developers will be here tomorrow.

I am trying to use the stock style for most of my sites.

I'm slightly retarded when it comes to color schemes so I do what I can with the built in color palette slider. This one came out alright I think: http://www.crossfitforum.com/ same here: http://www.girlsforum.com/

I use the Social style here: http://www.politicaljack.com/ and that one is easy enough to upgrade with. Especially with the new template merge system in 1.2

This is using a free Facebook style here: http://www.bookandreader.com/ that has no template edits.

I got stuck for a month one a style that was modified heavily and couldn't upgrade my forum without paying someone to fix it. So that made me take a step back from crazy styles for the time being.

Yes, I see - well that's very interesting! Thanks for the link :)

BTW, I'm not talking about your XenDisconnect style on my older forum Russ (I'm extremely happy with what you have done for me) it's my new forum which has a pretty heavy mod from the norm - I'm going to need to change it.:(

LOL I bet I'm worse than you at styling BamaStangGuy, but you have given me some heart with your sites - well done. Perhaps I could stay basic and just change icons etc to get a different look.
