What does this do exactly? The screenshots don't show the reply page.
Does the text editor show up in an overlay? The screenshots don't show specifics

It opens a reply to the thread. Like the real reply page.

That's the link it generates.

Ah, right. It might work better if it opens the editor as an overlay, that way you can submit and move down to the next thread(s), jumping to and from the reply page seems like a lot of effort to reply

We should reply to a thread while inside a thread instead of using overlays. This is just a shortcut to advanced reply from the thread listing. If someone wanted to reply to threads using overlays that then all the posts in the thread should show up too and that would require another addon entirely. Plus xenforo overlays don't always look too good from a mobile phone. That's why you don't see many overlays on XFStop Mobile Theme.

Indeed, but why would you ever want to jump directly to the Reply page without reading a thread (which is what this add-on does).

I have to ask - Why would anyone want, or be able, to reply without first reading the thread?

If the thread title is a question then chances are you can answer the question without having to read the thread. Another example is if you made a news thread that has no new replies since you last posted in it. You already know what everyone had to say. Now you see an update on the news story and you decide to post it in the thread. This link is a shortcut to replying to a thread. There are other instances where this shortcut is convenient. Another example is if you have borboles awesome last 5 posts sidebar modification and configured your sidebar to show up in your subforum either through xfrocks widget framework or jaxels xenporta then you can reply to the thread after seeing their reply in the sidebar. I have this very example set up on my own site if you want to give it a look.
