"500 Internal Server Error" when attempting to Email Users

It happens on the first 100, nothing of interest in the Server Error Log.

What's the next step?

That is an error returned by the web server itself. You would have to check the logs on the server itself or contact your host to discover the cause.

It's probably an overly restrictive server module like mod_evasive or mod_security.

It is strange though, as it only started happening in the last week. Prior to that, it was working flawlessly.
