XF 2.1 5,000+ of my forum's 6,800 users are spambots - How to delete them?

I haven't kept on top of new users and now I find myself in this position. I know they are spambots because nearly all of them have zero posts and nonsensical email addresses.

I know about the batch update users tool, but can't really figure out a good strategy to eliminate them without affecting valid users who also have zero posts.

I've already deleted all the .ru and .xyz users.

Is there a good way to handle this?

Look to see how many of them have multi dot email addresses. Like you.me.them@email.com

One option would be to filter based on this:



Any which haven't confirmed their email address can be deleted.

Other than that, if there is no means of mass identifying them then it's going to be a manual process.

Thanks... I tried that search and I see a lot of valid-looking accounts, so a bit weary of that one.

I would say if they haven't validated their email after a week of signing up then you can safely delete them.
