Thread Prefix Pro 1.0.6 includes important improvements focused on stability, theme compatibility, and the overall user experience.

This release fixes an error that could occur when enabling, disabling, or rebuilding the add-on on some installations. Custom prefix styles are now applied correctly after the first save, resolving the issue where administrators had to reopen and save a prefix a second time.

Color compatibility with custom designs and third-party themes used as the default style has been improved. Prefix colors now adapt more reliably to the color structure of the active theme.

Prefix usage counts and the option to hide unused prefixes are now handled more reliably. The process responsible for keeping saved prefix information current and removing outdated data has also been improved.

When upgrading from version 1.0.5 or earlier, the required checks and cleanup operations are applied automatically during the upgrade.

We are very happy to introduce Thread Prefix Pro 1.0.5, an update designed to make your forum look cleaner, run faster, and work without headaches.

For this version, we listened closely to your feedback. The old prefixes were often too bulky, the icons were bursting out of their boxes, and they simply took too much attention away from thread titles. We completely redesigned all layouts into neat, elegant, and compact badges that sit naturally next to your discussions.

Behind the scenes, we also took care of annoying little bugs: the icon picker in the admin area no longer freezes or slows down your browser, private discussion counts can no longer leak to unauthorized visitors in support forums, and best of all: upgrading the add-on will no longer erase your saved prefix styles and designs.
  • Replaced bulky prefixes that stretched thread list rows with compact, modern, and tidy badges.
  • Fixed oversized icons that were sticking to container edges; icons are now neatly scaled down and centered with comfortable breathing room.
  • Eliminated awkward color gaps and background leakage around the icons in slanted and split layouts.
  • Fixed template errors when switching to dark mode and enhanced contrast so badges look great on dark themes.
  • Fixed a bug where updating the add-on wiped out your custom colors and prefix designs. Your settings now remain untouched.
  • Fixed a background loop in the admin icon picker that was slowing down browsers and wasting system resources.
  • In ticket and private support forums, hidden thread counts will no longer be revealed in the prefix filter bar to unauthorized members.
  • Fixed the filter bar appearing twice or in the wrong place in forums that have sub-categories.
  • Fixed 404 errors when searching for icons on forums with renamed admin paths or custom friendly URLs.
This release focuses on heavy architectural refactoring and performance optimizations to ensure 100% compliance with XenForo 2.3.x core standards. Additionally, it addresses a frontend bug preventing custom styles from rendering in the prefix selection menus.
  • [Performance] Resolved N+1 Query Bottleneck: Addressed a critical N+1 query issue in the forum view that executed redundant database queries to calculate thread prefix usage counts.
  • [Refactoring] Centralized Repository Method: Replaced the Finder loops within ForumController with a highly optimized, grouped single-query method (getPrefixThreadCountsInForum) implemented directly inside the ThreadPrefixRepository, aligning with XF core standards.
  • [Stability & Security] Templater Rewrite: Completely refactored the Templater::fnPrefix extension. Fragile DOM and string manipulations (strpos HTML parsing) have been eradicated. HTML rendering is now safely constructed using the native $templater->func('prefix_title') approach.
  • [Bug Fix] Missing LESS Template: Resolved an issue where prefix badges within the "Create/Edit Thread" dropdown menu were rendered without their custom styles (backgrounds, borders) due to a missing LESS template.
This update is a major performance and stability overhaul that brings the ThreadPrefixPro add-on up to the highest architectural standards of XenForo 2.3.x. Legacy file-reading methods have been completely abandoned in favor of deep integration with XenForo's native data classes. Furthermore, to maximize front-end performance, a brand new Lazy CSS architecture has been implemented. You will notice a visible improvement in your page load times and server I/O resource consumption.

Changelog
  • Architecture: Font Awesome icon listing infrastructure has been deeply integrated with XenForo 2.3's native \XF\Data\FontAwesome class.
  • Performance: Removed the slow and server-taxing scandir() based directory scanning algorithm. Disk I/O consumption has been completely eliminated.
  • Performance: Migrated to a smart (Lazy) CSS system. The massive CSS file containing 16 different prefix layouts has been split into 16 separate micro-templates.
  • Optimization: Visitors will now only download the specific CSS footprint for the prefixes actually displayed on the page, significantly reducing the overall page size.
  • Fix: Patched the Live Preview screen in the Admin Control Panel to work seamlessly with the newly fragmented CSS architecture.
Thread Prefix Pro v1.0.2 is here, fully optimizing the frontend thread prefix selector dropdown!

Key updates in this version:
  • All custom prefix layouts (such as Cyberpunk, Slanted, Pill, etc.), colors, and icons configured in the admin panel are now perfectly displayed in the dropdown menu and active prefix selection trigger, fully compatible with XenForo's native SVG icon and style structure.
  • Resolved prefix selection click targeting issues inside the dropdown.
With this update, we have added a brand new "Brands" tab to our Font Awesome icon picker and optimized the icon listing logic to run more efficiently and reliably.

Change Log

  • New Feature (Brands Tab): Integrated a new Brands tab into the icon picker modal, allowing you to easily browse and select Font Awesome brand icons (such as Bitcoin, Facebook, Twitter, Chrome, etc.).
  • Bug Fix (Broken Images): Resolved a bug where icons in the Brands tab would render as broken images (404 error) due to combined scanning of Solid and Brand directories. The icon lists have been completely segregated for proper loading.
