Unmaintained TPU: Detect and Block Spam Registrations 1.6.6

Really amazing! Hope they come out with a version for Xenforo 2! The build in spam protection is not sufficient!

I have tried all the builtin anti spam features of Xenforo, including custom verification questions. Nothing worked.
This addon just rocks! It works. Must have!

Hands down one of the best XenForo plugins available. This plugin eliminates nearly 99% of all spam. Please make a version for XenForo 2, I'm holding off on upgrading until it's available. Before this plugin the spam was almost uncontrollable, now it's next to nothing!

This is the single most effective anti-spam solution that I have tried. Since installing this add-on (and using it in conjuction with StopHumanSpam), not a single piece of spam has made it onto my forum. Not one. If W1zzard has abandoned it, I hope that another developer takes it over (or creates something similar). I have no doubt that people would pay money for this.

It's brilliant Works perfectly and is essential to any XenForo forum. It stops spam registrations very effectively once tweaked as required to your forum.

The only spam-killer, that really works. I could remove all the captcha's, the spambots are able to resolve them anyway. Awesome Plugin!!

This is working perfectly fine for me. I see all the country codes and I am running this addon on the latest version of XF. Very useful addon to slow down spam registrations.

The country code lookup has not been working for a while. It only returns XX. This was the main reason I installed this addon -- to block certain spammy countries like China from registering (but still allow them to view). Once this is fixed I will gladly give it 5 stars.

It still works on XenForo 1.5 which is fantastic because I can't think of or find any other anti-spam addons that work as well as this one.

This really really works. IMO it's the best anti-spam reg add-on available now. Super customizable, should fit the bill for any site. Love the hostname/iSP lookup.

Wonderful add-on! I was getting a glut of spam accounts recently, operated by humans not bots. This made the captcha upon registration pretty ineffective. However having this add-on evaluate the registering user's details such as country of origin, compromised server and StopForumSpam existence really helps to eradicate that problem. I did have to do some tweaking because I feel the default settings are a little too weak but YMMV. It's very customisable which is great. Should be part of Xenforo core. Big kudos to the author!

We managed for a long time only using tricky captcha phrases, but no more...

This add-on works excellent for us and seems to catch 99,9% of all offenders. Each account that so far has been labeled "rejected" has been an obvious SPAM account. There are a few false positives per month (we have hundreds of registrations/month) but those are always placed in the moderation queue and not rejected.

been using this addon for several months now and it's virtually eliminated all spammers once you start tuning the scores and settings for what to block ! A must for any Xenforo forum !

Along with the built-in anti-spam options in XenForo, this addon has put an end to my spam problem. I was getting occasional spam before. Since installing this addon, no spam at all. It's a beautiful thing!

This addon has been a HUGE help in keeping spammers subdued! I love how I can tweak so many individual settings to improve the level of effective it has.

Excellent add-on. This is more robust than I could have imagined. And the feature where you can see the TPU Registration Log entry in the moderation queue is essential. I no longer need to block whole countries using GeoIP, thanks to this add-on.

I do have one little problem that I haven't been able to solve, and it's that all posts that fall within the set threshold of "Maximum Messages to Check for Spam" (in XF's Spam Management settings) will be logged in the Spam Trigger Log, even if they don't match TPU's trigger settings, i.e. they are legit posts by new members with 0 score. NOTE though that this is likely not a problem with TPU Detect add-on, but instead a compatibility issue between this and one of my other add-ons.

An excellent plugin for reducing spam from known geographical areas and network providers which are spam friendly.

The ability to force spam checks for messages until a threshold of 'good' messages is met is invaluable for preventing spammers from posting publically until moderation staff can ban them.

This plugin is awesome and extremely sensetive. What I mean by this, is that user registered spammers were registering to my forums, but not posting anything to make them seen. With this plugin, it now picks up those people trying to register and allows me to auto reject or manually accept/reject them.

Before I had this plugin installed, my forum was constantly getting user registered spammers from Pakistan (PTCL Internet) who just wouldn't go away. I installed this plugin, set it to auto reject that ISP and country, and it works like a charm.

This is probably the very best security-related addon for Xenforo. This stops 90% of my bots, and a vast majority of the human trolls that have been attacking my forums. It is absolutely essential to any forum that receives a decent amount of traffic.
