What is Eggy Smart Feed?
Eggy Smart Feed adds a personalised “For You” discovery feed to XenForo using member interests, activity, follows, forum preferences and feedback.
Does it use AI?
No. The ranking engine runs entirely within XenForo and does not require any external AI service or API.
Does it replace XenForo What’s New?
No. Smart Feed works alongside XenForo’s existing What’s New system.
Can members control what appears in their feed?
Yes. Members can use More Like This, Less Like This, forum priorities, forum mutes, interests, hidden members and Smart Feed profiles.
What is Catch Me Up?
Catch Me Up provides a personalised summary of relevant discussions since the member’s previous activity or Catch Me Up point.
Can administrators control how recommendations are ranked?
Yes. Ranking weights, minimum content thresholds, content rules, thread age, candidate limits and recommendation limits can all be configured.
Can certain forums be excluded?
Yes. Forums can be excluded from recommendations, excluded from behavioural learning or configured as Always Include.
Can Smart Feed interests be shown during registration?
Yes. Registration interests can be disabled, optional or required.
Does it support connected account registration?
Yes. Registration interest handling supports both standard XenForo registration and connected account registration.
Can members hide specific users from Smart Feed?
Yes. This is separate from XenForo Ignore and only affects Smart Feed recommendations.
Does it support guests?
Yes. Guest access can be enabled if required. Guest recommendations use eligible content and general activity rather than member specific behaviour.
Does it include analytics?
Yes. The Admin CP includes For You views, Catch Me Up views, recommendation clicks, click through rate, feedback actions, forum mute and priority activity, hidden member activity and popular interests/forums.
Does it work with custom XenForo styles?
Yes. Smart Feed uses XenForo style properties rather than a hardcoded colour scheme so it inherits the active style.
What XenForo version is required?
XenForo 2.3.12 or newer.
Are external services required?
No external recommendation, AI or machine learning service is required.
