[MC] Sunset

[MC] Sunset 1.1.3

No permission to buy ($30.00)
We have released a new maintenance update. This update requires Core Library 1.0.3

Changes
  • The audit log now uses the shared Core Library audit log, so its list, Filters menu, filter chips, paging and CSV export work the same as in other add-ons.
  • Each audit row has buttons to filter by its member or by its actor, and a Details button.
  • Details now opens a page for that entry, with the actor, member, event, date and the recorded details, plus Previous and Next buttons to step through the same member's entries.
  • Clicking a member's name in the audit log now opens their Sunset tab in the user editor.
  • Retention pruning of the audit log now runs in batches.

Bug fixes
  • The audit log can now also be filtered by user ID, so rows for deleted members keep their filter button.
  • Setting the audit log retention to 0 days now keeps audit rows instead of deleting them.
  • Dates in the audit log CSV export are now in the administrator's timezone.
  • If one value in an audit row's details cannot be encoded, the rest of the details are still included in the CSV export.
We have released a new version focused on performance and stability, along with some changes.

Important change that will affect every add-on:

All of our add-ons are now using Core Library in order to maintain shared helpers and utilities across add-ons for easier maintenance and to keep add-ons cleaner. Core Library also covers our branding for all add-ons in one switch without having to turn it off in every add-on.

This update will require Core Library 1.0.1.

Changes
  • The evaluator now only moves members into deeper tiers. Moving a member back up is left to reactivation or an administrator, so raising a threshold or bulk-moving members no longer re-sends warnings to them.
  • With "Confirm username releases manually" enabled, the evaluator now stops members at the hard tier. Usernames are only released after an administrator approves them in the dashboard queue.
  • Each evaluator run now processes at most the configured batch size and continues from where the previous run stopped, so the first run on a large board no longer queues every member at once.
  • Inactivity thresholds must now increase from tier to tier. A threshold that is lower than the tier before it is rejected when saving.
  • Members on the "Manual only" reactivation model are now kept on the reactivation page for the whole visit, the same as members waiting on a reactivation request.

Performance
  • Deleting a user no longer scans the entire audit log.
  • Reconciling policies loads each batch of members' snapshots in one query.
  • Exclusion criteria no longer load each member's profile separately during evaluation.
  • The preview CSV export no longer runs out of memory on large boards.
  • The Simulator no longer runs the same projection twice when the thresholds have not changed.
  • The REST API member list counts active members without scanning every account.

Bug fixes
  • Members moved into a locked tier while logged in are now locked out within a few minutes instead of at the end of their session.
  • Renaming an account to a recently released username is now blocked during the lockout period, not only registering with it.
  • Anonymizing location or website no longer fails on boards that require those fields.
  • A released username no longer shows the member's original name in their username history.
  • A member reaching the released tier for a second time no longer fails and retries on every run.
  • A member who logs in while a tier change is being processed no longer ends up re-anonymized.
  • A failed reactivation at login now shows an error instead of logging the member in only partly restored.
  • Approving or rejecting the same reactivation request twice at the same moment no longer reactivates the member twice.
  • Deleting a user now removes their reactivation requests from the approval queue.
  • An unfinished evaluator, reminder or retention task is no longer restarted from the beginning by the next scheduled run.
  • Searching the audit log for a username that does not exist now shows an error instead of the whole log.
  • Applying the Simulator no longer replaces "use the board-wide value" never-posted thresholds with fixed numbers.
  • Error and status messages now use phrases and can be translated.
We have released a new maintenance update that fixes a critical issue with XenForo 2.3.13. Please update to the latest version before upgrading.
  • XenForo 2.3.13 introduces new security measures that caused a fatal error regarding our shared copyright footer.
New features
  • Reminders allow you to email quiet members before they are transitioned to a new tier. You may configure number of days in-between tiers the reminders go off, as well as the subject line and body text. Supports multi language as well via phrases.
  • Simulator allows you to simulate new thresholds to your whole member list and see how many users land on each tier, next to your current number.
  • Eligibility page now allows you to exclude staff, sunset accounts with bouncing email addresses, and exclude via user criteria and fields with a AND/OR option.
  • Bulk actions and filters are now available. You may filter the admin users list by sunset tier, as well as apply sunset tiers via batch update. Releasing a username stays a manual action since it is irreversable
  • Released usernames now have their own Admin CP page detailing when they were released, what account they were released from, if they are available or not, and what account registered with it again (if at all)
  • REST API and webhooks are now available.
    • Rest API has three end points (superuser key only): read a members tier, list members by tier, and trigger a reactivation.
    • Six webhooks events cover the entire lifecycle.
  • Statistics now support Sunset tier movements, reactivations, releases and reminders
Improvements and changes
  • The policy matrix now store's the default settings, so you may reset settings back to default.
  • Making changes to the policy matrix previously only applied to new evaluations, but now includes a reconcile button to apply changes to members in existing tiers.
  • Members can now opt out of the warning email form their own preferences.
  • Members at the last two tiers drop out of the activity summary emails, and you can hold someone out of the first tier until your board has actually mailed them one.
  • Deindexing a profile now has granular options: Hiding online status, hiding full profile, and hiding profile from search engines.
  • Moderators may now handle reactivation requests from a standalone queue accessible from the moderator tools menu. Reactivation requests are still accessible from the approval queue.
  • Admin CP navigation links are now underneath it's own navigation tab underneath Groups & Permissions, instead of Users.

We have a new maintenance releases with bug fixes and many improvements.
  • Added:
    • Manually releasing usernames now requires confirmation, with a clear warning that it cannot be undone
    • New admin permission for manually releasing usernames.
  • Bug fixes:
    • Members who returned between evaluation and a scheduled tier change could still be anonymized. Stale transition jobs now cancel themselves.
    • Accounts jumping several tiers at once (e.g. straight to released on a fresh install) skipped the in-between tiers' anonymization. Downgrades now apply every skipped tier's policies; notification emails still only send for the final tier
    • Transitioning a user to their current tier showed a completion message when nothing actually happened. There is now a server guard to prevent same tier transitions. We also omit the same tier from the drop down so it is not selectable.
  • Improvements
    • During reactivation and tier changes, profile fields are now restored and anonymized in batches.
    • Audit log tier filters now use a database index
    • Lighter GDPR exports and CLI maintenance on large boards
    • Transition errors and background-job status are now fully phrased
A new version has been released that contains two bug fixes:
  • Audit CSV exports now sanitizes cells leading with = + - @ tab CR
  • Failed sent email no longer stops a member from being retired.
