Configuration and administration entry points
Beyond 3D Viewer integrates its settings into the relevant XenForo areas instead of placing everything on a single overloaded configuration screen.
Main add-on configuration
A dedicated section is available in the Admin control panel:
Setup → [MAG] Beyond 3D Viewer
It contains four primary administration pages:
- 3D Sources & Formats — manage supported 3D formats and verify the required native XenForo file extensions.
- 3D Upload & Storage — configure authoring rules, individual file, Source Package and batch upload limits, plus Supporting Document formats and limits.
- 3D Content Manager — centrally manage existing Viewer Items, Source Analysis, ViewerAssets, bulk maintenance and storage information.
- Rebuild Control Center — discover and connect existing 3D content in Forum and XFRM, run and monitor rebuild jobs, review history, filter results and retry eligible items.
Forum nodes
When editing a XenForo Category or Forum, Beyond 3D Viewer adds a dedicated
3D model functionality setting.
Each node can be configured as:
- Inherit;
- Enabled;
- Disabled.
This allows 3D functionality to be enabled only for the required Forum branches instead of globally across the entire forum.
XenForo Resource Manager categories
XFRM category editing also includes
3D model functionality with Inherit / Enabled / Disabled states.
Child categories can inherit the parent setting or explicitly override it.
Permissions
Beyond 3D Viewer uses XenForo's native permission system and adds dedicated permission groups:
- [MAG] Beyond 3D Viewer — controls access to the 3D Viewer;
- 3D models in threads — controls Forum 3D management, Presentation, Studio Lab, downloads and upload limits;
- 3D models in resources — provides the corresponding controls for XenForo Resource Manager.
Viewer access, authoring, Presentation, Studio Lab and download capabilities can therefore be controlled independently.
Per-content controls
For supported Forum and XFRM content, the add-on adds its own entry points directly to the normal XenForo workflow:
- Add 3D model(s) — add and manage models and Source Packages;
- Add supporting documents — attach documentation associated with the 3D content;
- 3D model functionality — per-content 3D enablement where supported;
- Presentation — configure the initial appearance, camera, transforms, Auto-rotation and other Viewer presentation settings;
- Studio Lab — advanced lighting, environment, exposure and Floor Shadow controls for users with the required permission.
Configuration is kept close to the feature it controls: global settings in the ACP, access through XenForo permissions, scope through Forum/XFRM categories, and model-specific appearance through Presentation.
