A complete Halloween event for your community

Eggy Halloween goes beyond simple seasonal decorations by adding a complete Halloween event system directly into XenForo.

Members can Trick or Treat each day, hunt pumpkins while browsing your community, collect candy, purchase seasonal rewards, equip Halloween cosmetics and compete for a place on the leaderboard.

Site owners retain full control over how the event works through an extensive set of ACP options and permissions.

Daily Trick or Treat

Members can knock once per day and receive one of three possible outcomes:

• Treat — receive a configurable amount of candy
• Trick — lose a configurable amount of spendable candy
• Empty door — walk away empty handed

Administrators can configure the Treat and Trick chances independently, along with minimum and maximum payouts and the maximum amount that can be lost.

Candy spent or lost does not reduce the member's lifetime Candy Earned score used by the leaderboard.

Site-wide Pumpkin Hunt

Pumpkins can randomly appear while members browse your forum.

Catch one before it disappears to earn additional candy

• Configurable pumpkin appearance chance
• Configurable candy reward per pumpkin
• Daily pumpkin catch limits
• Pumpkins stop appearing once the daily limit is reached
• Secure one-time claims prevent duplicate rewards
• Server-side verification of daily limits
• Cached or restored pages recheck pumpkin availability

The Pumpkin Hunt can be enabled or disabled independently from the rest of the Halloween event.

Seasonal Leaderboard

Create some friendly competition with a seasonal Top 10 leaderboard.

Members are ranked using their total Candy Earned, rather than their current spendable balance.

This means members are free to spend their candy in the reward shop without losing their leaderboard position.

Pumpkin catches are also tracked and used as part of the seasonal statistics.

Halloween Reward Shop

Members can spend their candy on permanent rewards for the current Halloween season.

Included rewards:

• Pumpkin Badge — adds a pumpkin icon beside the member's username
• Bat Icon — adds a bat icon beside the member's username
• Haunted Avatar Overlay — places a cobweb effect over the member's existing avatar
• Haunted Title — displays a special seasonal title
• Halloween Champion — adds Champion styling and a trophy icon

Each reward has its own configurable price.

Purchasing a reward does not automatically force it to display. Members can individually equip or unequip cosmetics they own whenever they choose.

Haunted Avatar Controls

The Haunted Avatar Overlay includes dedicated appearance controls for site owners.

Configure:

• Opacity
• Brightness
• Contrast
• Glow strength
• Glow colour
• Enhanced visibility for light styles

A built-in ACP preview displays the effect against both light and dark backgrounds and updates while settings are changed.

The cobweb's size and positioning remain fixed to prevent accidental distortion.

Site-wide Cosmetic Integration

Equipped Halloween rewards integrate throughout XenForo rather than being limited to the event page.

Depending on the selected reward, cosmetics can appear within:

• Thread posts
• Member profiles
• Member cards/tooltips
• Visitor menu
• Halloween leaderboard

Styling uses XenForo's existing colour variables wherever possible for better compatibility with custom styles.

Site owners can configure the Halloween event directly from the XenForo ACP.

• Maximum Trick candy loss
• Pumpkin Hunt enable/disable

The event respects your XenForo board timezone and automatically becomes inactive outside the configured Halloween period.

Built-in Candy Manager

Administrators also receive a dedicated Candy Manager.

Search for a member by username or user ID and view their current Halloween progress, including:

• Current candy balance
• Total Candy Earned
• Successful Treats
• Pumpkins caught
• Owned seasonal rewards

Administrators can also manually gift or deduct candy.

Manual adjustments affect spendable candy only and deliberately leave the member's Candy Earned leaderboard score untouched.

This makes it suitable for competitions, prizes, testing and account corrections.

XenForo Permissions

Eggy Halloween includes separate permissions for:

• View Halloween event
• Use Trick or Treat
• Participate in Pumpkin Hunt
• Purchase Halloween rewards
• Use Halloween cosmetics
• View Halloween leaderboard

Each feature can therefore be controlled independently for different user groups.

Registered members receive the standard Halloween permissions automatically during installation, while guests do not.

Members receive a dedicated Halloween page containing:
