Does this replace XenForo's normal account system?
No. The add-on works within XenForo and adds a staff approval stage specifically for member email address changes.
Does the member need to enter their password?
Yes. The member must enter their current account password before an email change request can be submitted.
What happens after a member requests a new email address?
The request is placed into the Admin CP for staff review. The existing account email remains unchanged until the request is approved.
What happens when staff approve a request?
The approved email address is applied immediately to the member's account.
Is a second email confirmation required after staff approval?
No. Staff approval is the final approval stage provided by this add-on.
Can staff reject an email change?
Yes. Staff can reject the request and optionally provide a reason.
What if the member submits another request while one is already pending?
This behaviour is configurable. A newer request can replace the existing pending request, with the previous request retained as superseded for administrative history.
Can an old or superseded request accidentally be approved?
No. The add-on checks that the request is still the current actionable request before allowing approval or rejection.
Can I exclude certain user groups?
Yes. Approval can be applied to all members or selected groups, and user groups can also be exempted.
Does the add-on send members status notices?
Yes. Pending requests can display a persistent notice, while approval and rejection outcomes are shown as one-time notices.
Does it require any third-party services?
No. There are no external APIs, services or additional add-ons required.
Which XenForo versions are supported?
XenForo 2.3.12 and newer within the XenForo 2.3 series.
