This update introduces Auto / Forum mode for Info Blocks, based on user requests.

What’s new​

• Auto (forum) mode per block
  Each info block can now be set to:
  
  • Manual mode – static, manually entered content (default)
  • Forum mode – automatically pull content from a selected forum
• Automatic thread fetching
  In Forum mode, blocks display:
  
  • thread title
  • short excerpt from the first post
  • direct link to the thread
• Per-block caching
  Each block has its own cache duration (in hours) to improve performance.
  Set cache to 0 to disable it.
• Fully XenForo 2.3 compatible
  Clean implementation for XF 2.3 and PHP 8+, without deprecated methods or unsupported template filters.

How it works (Forum mode)​

1. Go to ACP → Options → Info Blocks
2. Configure a block with:
   
   • Mode: Forum
   • Forum node ID: the ID of your News / Announcements forum
   • Limit: number of threads to display
   • Cache TTL: cache duration (in hours)
3. Save the options

The block will automatically display the latest threads from that forum
Clicking a block item takes users directly to the thread, not the forum

The forum (node) is used only as a source – threads are displayed, not the forum itself.

Important notes​

• When a block is set to Forum mode, manual content is ignored
• If no visible threads exist in the selected forum, the block is not rendered
• Manual and Forum modes can be freely mixed per block
