Do I need an OpenAI or Anthropic account?
No. The AI backend is fully managed and your subscription covers it, so there are no API keys or provider accounts to set up.
What happens to my members' data?
Our gateway passes each question to the AI backend to generate a reply and doesn't store chat content. Chat logs are off by default. When you turn them on, they're stored only in your own XenForo database, visible only to your admins, and auto-deleted after 30 days. Deep Intuition LLC and Xpertloop have no access to that log.
Which AI does it use, and can it be wrong?
The backend is powered through Xpertloop and grounded first in your own content when you provide it. Like any AI, it can be wrong. When it replies publicly to an @tag, that reply is labeled as AI-generated and, unless you grant the group a bypass, held in your moderation queue for staff review before it posts. The 1:1 chat isn't posted publicly. Members can rate answers with a thumbs up or down, which gives admins feedback on quality, and admins can then ask us to tweak their agent instructions or update their content.
Can I control who uses the bot?
Yes. ForumBot uses XenForo's permission system, so you choose which user groups can use the chat page and which can @tag the bot (guest access is not supported).
Can members share their conversations, and what if I turn sharing off later?
Chat sharing is off by default. When you enable it, members can create a public, read-only snapshot URL and manage or delete their own shares, and admins can remove any active share from AdminCP. Snapshots are stored in your forum's own database and auto-delete after 5 days. If you disable sharing later, no new shares can be created, and access to existing ones is paused until you re-enable sharing or they expire.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period. The addon stays installed until you remove it, but the bot stops responding without an active license.
