It's already clear when the terms of license state clearly that you are not to pass on the add-on to anyone else.It seems pretty clear to everyone else here except you who can't accept that you are wrong.

As Martok said, it's pretty clear.

I'm not wrong for 4 other authors but wrong for 1 author only, this is why I am making my suggestions, to sort all this.

The onus is on you to ask permission of every author if they would allow you to pass an add-on to a 3rd party dev and to then wait for permission to do so.You should NEVER assume it's OK and then tell them after you have done it because that is WRONG. The way things are currently is fine, XenForo doesn't need to change any rules. YOU need to change your behaviour.

Martok I agree partly but if some authors accept differently and the odd one doesn't it's still XF's job to create a level playing field.

No it's not. XenForo doesn't police add-ons, it's up to users to decide what to buy and install and whether it meets their needs or not. It's also up to users to ensure they read and comply with any licensing and if in doubt, to ask the author first.

Stop pointing the finger of blame at anyone else but yourself. You are in the wrong here, others agree with me and I've yet to come across anyone who thinks you are in the right bar yourself. So suck it up and move on.

We agree to disagree but you make good presumptions! If you are ever in my beloved Ankara we have a drink together!

I can say pretty definitively that we would not enforce a license on resource author. It is their choice what restrictions they want to provide and how they want to structure their licensing.

However, ignore that for argument and consider what a standard license would say. It would have to be very restrictive by default as it is the author of a creative work who is in control of distribution and it is their right to *grant* permission not for the purchaser to automatically have it.

So that doesn't really solve anything.

Mike, yes but XF obliged all authors to simply alert buyers of their position on 3rd parties this will save a lot of possible confusion. But up to you.

The only confusion, is yours.

Not quiet, But only due to a lack of a coherent XF policy applicable to all authors as explained
