XF 2.2 Members reporting that their new posts are not showing up Under new posts

This is new to me but several asked last night and I did not have an answer


We have had two reports where new posts were made, yet they do not show up on the "New Posts" tab.

It is my understanding that when a member puts up a post and then searches "new post" lists he only sees new posts by others

If this is correct then I suppose there is no issue but a member reached out yesterday and asked why doesnt his new post show up in the"new post list

It isn’t correct.

Seems like they are filtering them out.

If they have the filter set to show only unread, then they won’t see their own (unanswered) posts because presumably they have read them.

If there is no filter they should see their own along with all other posts.

EDIT: this quite a common complaint from users who don’t know about new post filtering.

You will not see your own new post unless you sort by read. You will see it when there has been a reply to it though. What you are seeing is the default behavior for this.
