ES 2.3 I have a forum with 48k topics; does the enhanced search scope work to show more results?

I have a forum with 48k topics and Enhanced Search 2.3.5 installed; everything is working fine.

When I search for "Samsung," nothing appears—not even "Samsung" itself.

My question is: how does the enhanced search scope work so that results appear while I am typing my query?

are both screenshots from your own forum? how do you get it work on the second screenshot? if it works on the default theme and not your own, theme would need to be fixed i suppose. if this is a fresh install, and you turned on the setting, iirc you would need to rebuild your search index. apart from that there is no extra thing that needs to be done.

@Chromaniac :coffee:
Any search query—e.g., "Dell," "Samsung," or "E1"—fails to return results.
This image shows the expected outcome (XF).
Do I need to have over a million topics to get a result like the one in the image?

It also depends from the configuration. On this forum here the search used to bombard you with live preview results (often of very dubious relevance and order), however, since the search has been protected by Cloudflare those are no longer visible.

Right
It's possible it worked for me because I did see the Cloudflare interstitial page when this thread loaded. So maybe I was whitelisted already.

As for OP, if all the settings are proper and search index has been rebuilt, try if it works in default theme.

Configuration OK
Probably not. As far as I remember the recommendation, if elastic runs on localhost is to not use https from XF as this may (and often will) lead to issues. Running w/o https is no issue on localhost and makes setup easier and more robust.

I see...
I just want the real-time advanced search feature to work on my forum.
Everything is installed and up to date, so I need to know what the actual problem is.

You HAVE to have elasticsearch running. To check use ssh and run the command to check the service. Here is a typical reply.
Enter: systemctl status elasticsearch

[root@server ~]# systemctl status elasticsearch

Your forum is working correctly.

I see...
That live search result on XF looks exactly the same as the one on my forum.

Configuration OK

I uncheck the box and save.
Your changes have been saved. To finish this action, you must now rebuild the search index.

Everything reverts; the box becomes checked again.

Look, mine stays the same; nothing shows up.

:(:(:(:(:(

I'll post in a few hours, need to get some sleep.
One thing is make sure you DO NOT check use https connection on a single server.
I'll post more images soon.

BTW, Andy has a pretty good guide on his site.
