If so, do you know of any Xenforo websites / communities that are focused on sharing / uploading photos, as well as having voting features which enable the photos which receive the most votes to be promoted to the front page?
Can you list any examples?
Basically, I'm wondering if Xenforo is a...
Hello
I really like the look and feel of Xenforo and am thinking of possibly getting the forum framework with the intention of using it with WordPress. However, I have a few questions:
1) The intention is to use XF as a forum initially, but I have plans of wanting to heavily customise it, so...
This is where custom development happens... In which case, I assume that Xenforo is "infinitely" expandable?
Basically... Could Xenforo be used as a framework to create the next Facebook or Instagram (if you hack it enough)?
As above...
Just trying to find ways to ensure that a forum isn't flooded with bad faith actors who provide low value and who ruin the experience for others.
If nothing else... you have an incredibly nice looking forum.
What theme did you use, and how much customisation was involved afterwards?

Looking at the pricing page, the "core" version of this forum (including a lot of the plugins that you mentioned) can be had for $345.
If Neogaf / Resetera don't have a lot of features implemented, then this means that a "copycat site" can be had for less than $1000 - if one wanted all the...
How many add-ons / plugins do you think this "community" Xenforo forum has?
Is it fairly vanilla? If so, it looks pretty stacked in terms of functionality.
I mean... I haven't come across anything that makes me think that this specific Xenforo forum is "lacking" in any way.
Not including server costs, how many hours would it take for an average developer to make something like www.resetera.com / www.neogaf.com - including style and functionality etc?
Based on the hours, I can work out the estimated cost.
Are there any Xenforo forums that are "paid membership" only? If so, how do they get around the idea of "advertising" the content of their members' whilst still implementing a paywall mechanism to ensure that non-members don't get to view their content for free?
Basically, I'd be interested in...
