Sadly I'm now moving to coding my own forums for my community, as this is a necessary feature that isn't in XenForo. Sadly that's $140 + add-ons that are down the drain just for the lack of one necessary feature. Hopefully, one day this will be added and I can come back to XenForo.

No, it keeps it where it is. Although Moderators go through every so often as part of their duties manually moving deleted / dead threads into a hidden 'Trash' node.

I let my users soft-delete their own threads, in case they posted something by accident etc. But no-one (not even admins) have permissions to hard-delete.

@Tealk I had a go with that, and that plugin uses some assumptions on how the database is formatted. I recommend using https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/user_backend_sql_raw - However I didn't succeed with this one either sadly.
