I absolutely support this!

I am not a specialist, but I think that responsive design is no longer the best solution. But with adaptive design approaches really great things are possible: just have a look a the front-end of flarum.org (in a mobile browser).

I own two Xenforo licenses - and I still think, that Xenforo is the best forum software available. But is becomes more and more outdated on the front-end. Responsive design only is no longer enough. We need features like a touch-optimized mobile version, a mobile optimized composer (floating)...

It is not only a question of UI mods. With Flarum you are able to assign a topic to more than one forum (primary tag).

I think for forums with a more traditional approach, Xenforo will be the right solution also in the future ... while Flarum seems to become a really great solution for a more dynamic forum approach (with the ability to assign a thread to more than one category/forum etc.).

It depends on the respective case. For me, hierarchies stand for a traditional/structured approach while tags support cases which require more flexibility. In an ideal world, Xenforo would support both approaches!

To have different forums is not always an ideal solution, because one topic could go with more than one forum. With the new thread tagging feature, categories become obsolete in some cases. I am thinking about how to use Xenforo without traditional forums, only with tags for categorization. How...

The competition between forums and other social media like Twitter or Facebook is hard today. Therefore I think a forum should make it users as easy as possible to write new threads. It should also be possible from outside of a forum - for example from the community overview page. Threads...
