I'm expecting (hoping?) for LSWS 5 by the end of the month. There'll be a little delay for downloading it through the WHM Plugin (as there always is). If you want to upgrade right now, just use the lsup script: /usr/local/lsws/admin/misc/lsup.sh -f -v 5.0RC3
After you've upgraded, you should be...
I stand corrected!
I have now seen one test that shows NGINX as faster than OpenLiteSpeed. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, @RoldanLT. The test is a little old, but I think it's newer than the benchmark I posted. I don't know how we never heard about this... We need new benchmarks!

I've been away for a while. So it's good to have a chance to jump back into the forum.
We've never seen a test that suggests NGINX would be faster than OpenLiteSpeed. We do have a couple tests suggesting OpenLiteSpeed is a little faster than NGINX, though...
Howdy @Moscato,
Not totally sure I'm qualified to answer this (since I work for LiteSpeed), but I didn't want your thread to go dead. The biggest reason people use LSWS is that it has performance at least as good as NGINX while also remaining Apache compatible (which makes it control panel...
Totally missed this. I already responded to Mike in a conversation, but, for the public: We're hoping sometime early next year. (It will be available in the WHM Plugin when it gets out of RCs and into stable release.)
m
Oh. Wait. Apparently, I didn't understand the issue. I thought you said APC was checked by default.
Ah. You just mean we shouldn't allow it as a checkbox when PHP 5.5 is chosen. Point taken. I don't know, though, whether we'll be able to build that in any time soon. (We should also probably not...
No, no, no. Sorry. I wasn't clear. I understand the issue, but I don't see it in my version of OpenLiteSpeed. You are probably using a different version than I am. What version of OpenLiteSpeed are you using?
m
Hmmm... That doesn't sound like a good way to have the defaults set up... What version are you using? It doesn't show up this way on the version I have set up, but I'm using 1.3.something.
Michael
Ah. I guess that makes a little more sense, though I would still think there isn't much benefit to running nginx or Tengine in front of OpenLiteSpeed (or running OpenLiteSpeed in front of nginx).
m
Whoa. Thanks for posting. I will have to look into this when I have time.
On the face of it, though, it doesn't seem to make sense. Why put OpenLiteSpeed in front of nginx?
