PS. I do have PHP errors on in my PHP.ini and know where the standard error.log is located. It's just that I am not seeing any errors there when this happens.
I cannot even toggle off the rich text editor. When I click the gear icon I get the same message:
"The submitted message is too long to be processed. Please shorten it."
One of the posts I imported from vBulletin was over 70,000 characters. It imported just fine and shows up fine when viewing the thread.
However, when I try and update the post I get the error message that it is too large.
I tried setting Admin -> Options -> Messages -> Maximum Message Length...
I solved the issue. In case it helps anyone else, I merely added:
redirect 301 /forums/showthread.php /showthread.php
... above the rewrite rules in the .htaccess file in the forums subdirectory. That way the URL gets 'forums' removed from it BEFORE the redirect addon does its magic.

- My old VB4 install was in /forums/ whereas my XF is in root. (But the VB4 install is on a different server so there was no /forums/ on this server)

Is there a way to move the current usergroups to secondary and set the primary to Registered using a SQL statement or addon?
