To all that helped me upgrade from XF1 I thank you. Site is now upgraded. The actual upgrade only took it offline for about 90 minutes. I could have not done this without all the help I got here. Thanks again. framer

Got it, I had 777 those dir's after I uploaded the update but before I run the update. I just redid the chmod again and it seems to be working. Thanks

They were and checked, SElinux also disabled and firewall turned off. Still this issue. framer

Getting strange, current BU board runs perfect. I can't even update to 1.5.24 without it saying I need to 777 those two directories. They are 777'd Could it be a firewall issue? Even a clean install failed to run same issue.

The OS is CENTOS 7 the requirements from the test file are met. PHP is 7.1.6

I've also chown -R root:root both directories and verified all files as root thanks for the quick response.

I would like to say I ran that version for 1 1/2 years and never had to reboot the server. I've never gone that long without issues in 20 years of running online boards. The server was Fedora 23. Back in my VB days I would needed to reboot every 30 days or risk a stoppage. Thanks Xenforo...
