Someone called Dom at Nimbus Hosting eventually got back to us on the tickets. He seems to know what he is talking about but we still have a couple of issues left to resolve. I think the front line just take the calls and decide if to escalate it someone technical like Dom. Not the best system...

Everytime I raise a ticket with the current Nimbus outfit, it's sit their unassigned. I then have to call them up and speak to someone that seems to then message the technical team. Then get off the phone and nothing happens.

Since Tim at Nimbus Hosting sold out, the new owners aren't very good. Poor and slow support from pretty much the day they bought it.
Nimbus weren't perfect, but they were a lot better than this outfit.
Anyone know of a decent alternative that includes UK based human support. Ideally not...

I think this outfit have taken the money and run. Are xenforo aware of this? I purchased a license with them and the addon doesn't work. No support and no replies to my messages.

Yes, assume the same for everyone from the generic email received today. It wasn't the best "prices going up" email I've ever read. It was short and didn't explain much about their reasoning or what the price increase will provide - eg improved support.
