So every 12 months, in order to update and acquire support, I would have to purchase again with the full price correct?

I for one am disappointed with vB at its current state, as well with iB. I just have two questions however before I purchase: 1. When my license expires, will there be a way to renew it? 2. Will the current lawsuits be affecting in any major way with the software itself? Thanks in advance...
