I'm curious as to how this add-on actually works (or worked.) Mastodon is really picky about usernames -- once you set one, it is in stone and can't be changed without breaking a whole bunch of stuff. So I'm wondering can the addon take the XF username and use it to create a mastodon account...

Curious about this as well -- Mastodon has gained millions of users in the past week, if there was a reliable integration add-on for XF it would be worth paying for... at least for some forums

I wasn't being clear, sorry -- I meant, is it possible to have a specific chat room that only appears on this one page, but nowhere else? (ie, so when the chat loads up, it loads this specific room, and the room isn't available on any other page on the site. thanks

I have created a custom page in XF (node type "page", with html). how would I embed a chat room at the bottom of this specific page? Is that even possible? thanks!

Agree -- I'm a little surprised it doesn't work that way by default! Hopefully when Audentio's XPress support staff comes in on monday they can get mine running, i'll share the changes they made to get it fixed here.

I just installed this add-on, I don't quite get how it works -- I've created a room called "the lobby", and set it to be the default room. Set display mode to "Chat page only". But have no idea how to access it -- When I click on the "chat" link in the menu bar, it just takes me to a page...

Thanks Dalton, let me know if you want me to file a formal ticket at the Audentio site. I figured this might be a better place to ask so we can easily share answers with other Xpress users. Really hope you can solve the "0 Comments" problem -- it is making our site look bad :(

I finally got Xpress working today, with the latest builds of XF and Xpress and XLink. So far so good, but I have a few questions about its operation and ability to customize. Not sure if this is the best place to ask about it, but hopefully other folks would find this useful. Question 1 --...

The first instance, on a freshly spun up VM with LEMP. The link cannot be made; been at it for about 4 days now, still no solution, unfortunately! It is probably a good thing that they are upping the price on the add-on and throwing in some support; sites that really need this functionality...

makes total sense. Xlink is definitely ambitious, I can see why it would require a different support model. My biggest concern (once we get it working, of course!) is with upgrades -- the fear that a point release of WP or XF is going to break something with the add-on.

hi mike, thanks for the reply! in my case, the setup doesn't seem too exotic -- running ubuntu 18.04 with stock LEMP,I upgraded xf from 1.5 -> 2.1, and Wordpress to the very latest 5.2.3... followed the Xlink and xpress guide to the letter, and still getting that REST 404. I filed a ticket...
