Anyway, I have already checked and double-checked node permissions and both posts and attachments in posts are viewable by guests. I have confirmed this by going to one of the threads that was going to appear in the block and everything shows up fine, both the post and the attachments, including slide.jpg.

I have looked throughout this thread and searched it for anything related to "guest" and "guests", to no avail.

Thats because you must have the image as an attachment. Guests by default do not have access to view attachments. Upload it to the server normally, rather than saving and then displaying an attachment. There is also an addon that makes attachments visible to guests as well, search for it.

Thanks for the feedback, but that's not it. As I mentioned before, I've made attachments viewable by guests in nodes permission.

The problem was, for some reason that I cannot explain, with the "Welcome" notice that I had up. In the post that followed the first one, I explained how I found a work-around to that.
 
How do I add "Recent News" to the center of the Portal page? Last time I used XenPorta was a year or so ago.. it has changed quite a bit. Nowhere near as intuitive as it originally was.

I only get the option to add it to the top/center/bottom left/right or the sidebar.

I'm just using everything on "right" positions: top-right, mid-right and btm-right. And I am leaving all "left" positions empty. I'm also using the sidebar. It works, everything that is position on the "right" ends up in the middle of the page: www.pinkfloydfan.net
 
Additional block list - you mention there are dozens of additional blocks that can be installed from the package. Apart the 8 blocks installed by default, I could only find a handful of others in the package, am I missing something? Thanks
 
Right now i have the url to the forum tab to be: forums.mydomain.com
However i want that to be the xenporta home page url and make the forums: forums.mydomain.com/forums
Does anyone know how i can do that?

I'm running XF 1.3.0 & XenPorta 1.6.0
 
I am just getting started with XenForo and I installed the XenPorta without any issues. However I wanted to add a block and put some HTML code in it.

So I found the HtmlBlock file in the now closed XenPortal thread and installed it.

I then edited the HtmlBock template the way I wanted it. And it works good... however I have one iframe in there. and for some reason that iframe showing the line up at time with the Log in or Sign Up button.

How do I get this to stop showing up in the iframe?

Also is there anyplace where I can find more blocks that work with 1.3.2?

BTW since I am start off new with Xen, should I be using XenPorta or is there something new I should be using instead? Thanks!

I'm trying to modify a block for XenPorta (the RecentNews one) in order to use a predefined name instead of the first attachement of the thread. First of all, is anyone manage to do that and if so, is it possible to get your block =D?

Well, I'm really bad in php so I don't know how to use the system existing for the XenPorta slider but I was wondering if it was possible to add a syntax similar to this one "<img src="$news.attach.nameOfTheImage"></img>" Maybe there is something I can do . I already ask Jaxel about that but due to the fact he's on XP2.0 (I hope so ^^) he told me once that he wouldn't modify XenPorta 1.6 anymore, that's the reason why I post here.

This happens when I activate the RecentNews Block with one topic set as news. Before setting the first topic as "news" there were no errors with activated news block.

What can I do to fix this error? I need the news urgently after converting the board from phpBB 3.0 to xenForo to promote all changes.

Are there any programmers available to help me get the resource manager linked to be able to "promote item" to the news block of XenPorta?

Hit me up, can pay extra for quick, quality work.
 
This one is old: But did anyone manage to fix the slider in the 'RecentFeatures' block? It doesn't rotate anymore and continues to show old posts.
