Although you will not have noticed it yet because of the permissions we have currently set here on XenForo.com, there has been work behind the scenes on the attachment system for 1.1...

Following on from our previous video about thread prefixes, this video shows some more prefix-related functionality.

With XenForo 1.1, it's now possible to (optionally) define individual smilies from a sprite image. This video shows you just how easy it is to use the system.

An eagerly-awaited feature for XenForo 1.1, here is a first look at the new thread prefixes system, with a special guest appearance!

In an attempt to decrease the number of HTTP requests made (and thereby speed up pages), virtually all of XenForo 1.1's UI icon graphics come from just two sprites. xenforo-ui-sprite.png node-sprite.png Attached below are the 24 bit versions of the same sprites, for those of you who wish to edit them but don't have a graphic program which supports the 8 bit versions.

You may have noticed that the CSS running on XenForo.com is now minified... Just saying :)

This video looks at some of the improvements we have made to the BB code media system in XenForo 1.1, allowing you to embed media from a far wider variety of sources. Update: Let's call this rapid feedback reaction or something buzz-wordy like that. Anyway, just a few hours after posting the last video, I have a little update for you :)

This is just a quickie really, but I noticed today that Google has finally started to make use of the HTML 5 Microdata embedded in the XenForo breadcrumb. This means that it is now possible to click through to the forums that contain the page that matched your search, directly from the search results page. :cool:

When we debuted the Pages feature, it was intended to be a simple way to get some custom HTML onto a page surrounded by the standard XenForo user interface chrome. By the time we reached Beta 1, it had evolved into an altogether more powerful system. Pages now support a PHP callback, so your pages can request data from the database and be used as a platform for building any kind of single-page application you might want to build. They also allow you to override the default and specify your own template to be rendered by the page, so the possibilities really are limitless. One of the first 'Have You Seen...' videos we posted showed our attachment uploader in action, and went on to demonstrate how pictures could be quickly and easily inserted into messages. However, the system at the time could only handle a single image being uploaded at once. Not any more. :)

Please note this is an early build, and things might still change between now and 'gold' release. And that the steps of uploading the files and downloading the config.php has been skipped.
