Youtube cookies - necessary or not?

I'm getting really quite confused about third party cookies. If a user goes to customise their cookie choice and opts not to accept third party cookies, does that mean embedded youtube videos won't play for them?

Third party includes unnecessary things (for them) like google analytics - but also necessary things for them - like Youtube functionality. If you explain it may affect youtube functionality if they don't accept third party cookies, that kind of forces them to accept google analytics.

Shouldn't there be options for

1) Functional third party cookies - to interact with your user experience on the site - eg watching youtube videos

2) Analytical third party cookies - eg Google analytics
