Pretty sure that would be termination of your XenForo license. Which would mean you would no longer have any access to any XenForo updates or to any XenForo add-ons here at XenForo.com.

I guess the greater question would be, why would you WANT to do this? Is saving $300 (if copyright removal is important to you) really worth it, as opposed to simply not being a forthright person with a conscience?

No, you are not allowed to change the copyright in any way unless you have purchased branding free.

how do you know? I didn't find anything about it in XenForo License Agreement
we are allowed to modify templates, right? what exact rule prohibits us to add nofollow tag to links?

All copies of the Software must contain the same proprietary notices that appear on and in the Software, including all copyright notices embedded in the Software, which must remain unaltered from the original and visible at all times, unless by specific prior arrangement with XenForo Limited.

i haven’t done this myself yet because i am unsure but have seen some popular xenforo powered forum have either added a nofollow attribute or unlinked it ...

XF 1.3 - Xenforo copyright phrase

Hello, Up until 1.2.2 I used to change Xenforo's copyright notice from Forum software by XenForo™ ©2010-2014 XenForo Ltd. to Forum software by XenForo™ ©2010-2014 XenForo Ltd. It doesn't seem to work for me anymore. Why is that? How can I fix it?

Anyone who knows how to right click on page and click on "View source" can almost always find out what the juice is behind the rendering of a page.

Yes, you can easily and simply add an extra copyright in addition to the XenForo copyright notice. There is an extra field where you can do this.
