[XenBg] Portal - Transform your forum into a real content portal!

The [XenBg] Portal add-on is designed to transform your XenForo forum into a modern and interactive content portal. It offers a variety of functionalities and tools that allow you to organize and present your forum content in the most attractive and convenient way.

Congratulations on the release. If I understand correctly, it’s $50.00 for the license then $37.50 a month to renew?

Milen updated [XenBg] Portal with a new update entry:

Changes in XenBg Portal v1.2.30

  • Fix: a news ticker that changed whenever it wanted.
    • It has now been fixed and the ability to pause when you hover over it has been added. Plus minor cosmetic changes.
  • Change: Left sidebar removed
    • I tried to convince myself that it was useful and fit well (yes, maybe on the most stretched designs), but somehow it didn't fit right. That's why it was removed.
  • Change: Widget definitions
    • It was necessary so that...

@Milen I am loving this, and I really think the community needed something like this created -- so thank you!

Here's some food for thought, because it's something I know many people could benefit from: the inclusion of PHP/HTML content

If we had the ability, without something like WordPress, etc., to create a 'homepage' for our forum communities that could include PHP/HTML content, alongside XF widgets, contact, etc....

It would allow community owners to create a full fledged community experience, all tied within XF, without the need to utilize a third party CMS.

Just saying... :)

Hum..... I will think about a widget that provides contact information such as phone number, email, etc. And yes, you are right, that was the main reason I created the XenBg Portal add-on. Before I started using XenForo, I was using WordPress, and I missed the home page with the widgets that show the latest articles with images, text, etc. But using WordPress and XenForo together, I know from friends that it is not a good idea at all, and even more so with systems like Joomla or Drupal. Let me finish the portal slider, and I'll look at the contact widget options. 🫶 :giggle: 🤓 🫶

Edit:
The portal can also use XenForo's default widgets along with those that come with the portal itself. ;)

That's awesome, I am really looking forward to it -- and the contact widget option.

Like you said having used WP before, like I feel the need to now myself, also .... if you can find some way to allow HTML and PHP to be used in your front end...so we could say make some unique webpages that could include XF data/widgets... which I don't think can be done currently??

That would be AMAZING and finally take us away from needing WP, etc., for an attractive and totally custom visually and functionally webpage front end. ❤️

For HTML, I'm sure you can use the XenForo widget.

I haven't tested this widget with PHP, but it might work, who knows :D If you want, explain what exactly you need, and I can try to make it :)

Milen updated [XenBg] Portal with a new update entry:

v1.2.43 Just love

  • New: Added a slider that automatically picks up the last five featured threads.
    • The only thing you have to do is featured threads through XenForo itself, because the slider uses its system. This improvement is not only visual, with this slider you do not create additional tables in the database, you do not upload additional images because the slider uses the first attached image from the first post of the thread.
    • It is suitable for both threads and...

Your prices are crazy. Were not going to make your house payments.
bring your ass back down to earth.
I'm down to earth, this is my add-on, so I decide whether it will be expensive, cheap or free, right? No one is obligated to buy it, if someone likes it and needs it, they won't look at the price (as was the case with me with XenForo, DragonByte and others). And those who don't need this add-on will grumble even if the price is $5. :)

The price is un-reasonable. People are not made of money. But your tree's must have money on them.

Yes, I understand that the price is unreasonable for you, and I'm aware that money doesn't grow on trees. But like I said, my add-on, my rules. :) I didn't have money for XenPorta Pro, so I made my own, so... whoever finds it expensive has every right to make something of their own. Thank you for the comments anyway :)
