Do you have a demo?
The resource includes a screenshot that shows the prefix filter added to the Widget Definition: New Threads.

Its the Core XF Widget Definition: New Threads. This addon adds a prefix chooser so that you can create New Thread Widgets that will fetch threads with specific prefixes.

For example, you may have a Suggestions Forum and this new widget definition option allows you to fetch new threads from forum X, with the prefix "Implemented".

Hope that helps :)

I wanted to test if you could click them for filtering. Always like a good demo even if it's simple.

The DEMO is the screen shot of the Prefix Limit (Filter) being added to the Widget Definition below the Forum Limit (Filter) (shown in the Resource Description. That is the only feature/function of this addon.

It allows admins to limiting the fetching of the thread content to threads with specific prefixes. That is what this addon does. That is it, nothing more, nothing less.

@Painbaker is extremely thorough in explaining every single feature of an addon. He doesn't even remotely imply that this addon changes the widget display output, nor implies that this addon adds additional functionality like clickable prefixes that refresh the widget.

With that said... what you want would be a neat addition to this addon :)

I understand it now, at first read I thought it was a frontend filter, meaning I could click a prefix. Now I see it is an admin definable filter.
